For Black History Month I am creating a directory of all of CWT's book reviews related to African Americans. Some of the books are entirely focused on African Americans and others give significant consideration of African Americans. If you want to help, please add links that I might have missed. I expect it will take me all of February 2019 to complete this directory.

Near the end of her classic wartime account, Susie King Taylor writes, "there are many people who do not know what some of the colored women did during the war." For her own part, Taylor spent four years―without pay or formal training―nursing sick and wounded members of 33rd USCT AKA 1st South Carolina Volunteers.
