After 11 years and $1.5 million, there is no hope for Water Witch at Naval Museum

Well it is fenced in with several Civil War cannons, and by keeping the gate locked they can keep people from seeing the cannons

Still though there are organizations such as Habitat for Humanity that might be willing to participate on such a project. Whomever it was that first approached with the idea for the museum WW addition used a good sales tactic. I would look him up for drumming support in the local community. If they fix the errors begun with they might have ample space to exhibit artifacts.
Lubliner.

Even if it is a recreation of a ship, I'd like to see it remain if financially possible as it gives people an idea of what a Civil War ship looked like. The CSS Neuse II in Kinston, N.C. is a good example of a recreation.

At least put up a tall protective fence so people driving by on the road do not have to the the poor Water Witch slowly turn to rubble?
