A friend sent me an article about the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in the small town of Marietta, on the Susquehanna River, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary. The church's cemetery includes 20 Civil War veterans, seven of whom recently received new tombstones:
John Knight, Andrew McCurdy, Glenalvin Walker - 32nd USCT
Asa Spriggs - 2nd Pennsylvania Cavalry (originally 59th Volunteers)
Isaac Thompson - 24th USCT
Zachariah White - 3rd USCT
and
Joseph Maze - "a soldier in the Confederate Army. He served in the 3rd Cavalry and Infantry, Virginia State Line". As I understand it, the Virginia State Line, which included a 3rd Regiment, was separate from the Provisional Army of the Confederate States, which included the 3rd Virginia Cavalry and 3rd Virginia Infantry.
Unfortunately the article does not provide any more detail about these men or the other 13.
