A snowy Shiloh! Feb 2021

Wow, thank you so much for sharing these. You know, so often we see these historic sites in their full leafy glory. Rarely do we see them in thier winter coats. Bare branches and frosted fields do change the experience, don’t they?
Yes they really do. This is such a rare site as we don't really get a lot of snow here so this is a special treat.
 
Very nice pictures - Shiloh, the first large scale battle. A lot of the greats were there. ASJ is buried in the state cemetery in Austin. Who knows what might have happened if he doesn't take a mini ball in the leg and wheel in the saddle. Caught Grant drilling his men and Sherman eating his breakfast. Wasted too much time battling the Hornet's nest. First battle where field hospitals were necessary. Mass grave burials. A lot of greats were there. ASJ, Grant, Sherman, Beauregard, Cleburne, Granbury, Forrest and many others.
