The 100th Pennsylvania Infantry, nicknamed "The Roundheads," to distinguish them from the confederate "Cavaliers," was attached to Stevens' 2nd Brigade, Thomas W. Sherman's South Carolina Expedition, from November 1861 to April 1862. Almost 40 years later, John Harvey Stevenson, (once a Lieutenant in Co.K), wrote a letter to the G.A.R. organ the National Tribune (August 16, 1900), reminiscing about the military funeral of "One that was of High Rank" ......
