A couple curiosity provoking things in the OR

Apparently, Field's old brigade was depleted pretty badly even pre Gettysburg judging by the first link.

It would be much welcomed if the letter refered to could be found, as unless I am greatly inept it is not in the OR.

The second is also interesting. From the sound of it, Elzey is (possibly?) fit for field service, or at least fit enough to be considered instead of Trimble, who is still on the mend.

No real questions there, but it seems interesting. It also would make a good what if for anyone who feels more speculative than I what would have happened had he taken the division...as far as I know, while he had trouble speaking after his injury at Gaines' Mill, he was otherwise perfectly physically and mentally sound.

Just passing on some things to look over, and hoping others have thoughts they wish to share.
