Was just about to post this. I went here a few years ago and this was probably the most interesting item on display in the museum. I do not remember whether its provenance was given however...

Lamar Cobb (1840-1907) enlisted in as a Private in Company B, Georgia 2nd Infantry Battalion on April 16th, 1861. He was promoted to Sergeant Major of the same Company on July 31, 1861. On December 14, 1863 he was promoted to full Major/Assistant Adjutant General on his fathers' staff (Major General Howell Cobb)..
