Col. Paul Joseph Revere, Brig. Gen.Joseph Warren Revere and Assistant Surgeon Edward Hutchinson Revere, served in the Union army . Paul and Edward were captured by Confederate troops during the Battle at Ball’s Bluff in Virginia in October of 1861. Paul was wounded in the leg. Imprisoned in Leesburg, Harwood & Libby. In Jan. 1862 Revere’s group was exchanged for a group of Confederate prisoners . Paul was wounded, but survived at Antietam and Edward was Killed there. Paul was also wounded again at Gettysburg and died a couple days later. Joseph ended up getting court martialed for a mistake at Chancellorsville in the spring of 1863, but was allowed to resign due to input from Pres. Lincoln. Joseph was the only one of the three to survive the war.
