My wife had at least fourteen relatives in the 58th Indiana. Ten of them from Company A.

I'd love to find a picture of the 58th flag . . . anyone know of how I can find it?

The Indiana Historical Society probably has a physical one, I'm almost sure they do, but I'm hoping to find a picture some other way before I try that angle.

Here's a link to the 58th's Regimental History.

You can buy the history of the 58th Indiana from Higginsonbooks for $59. It's a reprint of the 1895 one by John Hight & Gilbert Stormont. It may just have a picture of the flag in it (of course, it'll probably shot to ribbons). It may make a nice anniversary gift. Buy two. One for her mom & dad.

BTW, I have no financial or other interest in Higginson. I just buy books from them.

Thanks Gary. I have Hight's History fortunately. I'm keyword indexing it using Excel and that will be very helpful when I'm done. I wish I could find some nice letters from 58th boys that are still extant though. The 58th, among other things, were Sherman's pontooneers during his famous march.

Regiments the 58th fought with (recognize any?)

The 58th Indiana also fought closely with these regiments if anyone has any useful information, especially letters or pictures:

- 17th Indiana
- 8th Indiana battery
- 57th Indiana
- 26th Ohio
- 13th Michigan
- 100th Illinois

Thanks!
