4/27 Video Discussion: 1864 Confederate Maryland Campaign

I'm so glad I read Dave Powell's Chickamauga books before visiting the battlefield. The morning was cold, and the woods were wonderfully quiet. Perfect.
 
I walked the field where I believe Breckinridge's division attacked. I'm amazed at how they just plunged into those dense woods.
 
The undulating fields at Marye's Heights that prevented the Confeds from hearing the Feds coming up the hills or seeing them as the enemy appeared and disappeared with the undulations of the land. Hollow victory for the Confeds.
