Jasper Andrew Price (b. 8 Apr 1830; d. 12 Sep 1909),
33rd Mississippi Infantry, Co. E

Jasper joined the Holmesville Guards, formed in March 1862 in Pike Co., MS, which was one of the companies that made up the 33rd Mississippi Infantry Regiment. The companies assembled at Grenada, MS, and made their headquarters the city's fairgrounds. They were issued their military equipment, but it was not until 8 Jul 1862 that they were issued their weapons and two weeks later, their first marching orders. This regiment saw no action at Shiloh.

Andrew Jackson Hudson - Corporal - Company A.
Cumberland Guards.
Andrew was born January 12,1837 in Georgia. He was
wounded in the groin at the Battle of Peach Tree Creek.
He died December 15, 1920 in Tulip, Arkansas.

Chauncey Porter Conerly Rank: Other Company: Enlisted as a 5th Sergeant on 5 May 1862 at the age of 22. Detailed as Hospital Steward on 6 July 1862. Detailed as Division Hospital Steward on 15 November 1863 by order of General Polk. Surrendered on 26 April 1865 at Greensboro, NC.

Was a doctor married to Margaret McCullough. He served in the Civil War as a hospital steward and assistant surgeon as Sgt in Company E, 33rd Regiment MS Infantry, The Holmesville Guards. He also served as the Chief Clerk of Surgeon General- P F Whitehead of Loring's Division. He died in 1903 in Lincoln County MS and is buried in the Winston McCollough Cemetery near Ruth, Lincoln County, MS. 2nd cousin. Company E.

I received a reproduction of the 33rd MS flag in 2014 as a junior college graduation gift. The Mississippi Department of Archivesome and History have drawings of most of the battle flags in their collection, and I sent the picture with the measurementsame to the gentleman who made it.
