Hello All,
With a slew of events being cancelled due to the Covid 19 outbreak, I was hoping to start a thread of how reenactors are staying busy and keeping their tools sharp so to speak. Any new gear you have purchased to help your kit or book you have read to help your impression.

Well I was supposed to be at Bentonville this past weekend. I bought a new Columbus Depot jacket and Atlant Arsenal cartridge box for my Army of Tennessee impression (usually do a ANV impression), was going to participate in the CS campaigner adjunct. So instead I spent the weekend in my drill manuals. My AoT impression will have to wait till next year. Hopefully we'll be back in action before long. My business is shut down and with no reenactments I'm already bouncing of the walls.

We had one more event scheduled down here that cancelled so instead one of our guys lives in the middle of no where with a big piece of property so we're considering a company camp out and drill weekend.

I imagine the March Natural Bridge reenactment got cancelled and I know the Port Hudson reenactment was cancelled. It is in March too.

They got Natural Bridge in before things tightened down in Florida, that was the first weekend of the month. We also got a small event in down here in south Fl. the following weekend, the next day, a week ago Monday is when they shut things down here.

I spent the day reading a pamphlet, “The Little Book of Civil War reenacting”. It was interesting, and I think described what a typical weekend looks like. Although I must admit, I don’t see much in the way of period correct foods being eaten..other than bacon! And that ration was late one morning.

Also took some. Time and read through, “Who wore what? Women’s wear” by Juanita Leisch. An interesting read. I learned a few new things, and had some information confirmed.

If you want to see what it really looked like, rations and everything take a look at what these guys are doing https://www.libertyrifles.org/photos/2019/15th-alabama and https://www.libertyrifles.org/photos/2019/warlike and https://www.libertyrifles.org/photos/2019/fluvanna-artillery
