I ran across a box full of old original newspapers and newspaper clippings from the 1860's.
Pretty neat.
It tells a great story of the times people were going through during the civil war era, for sure.
Three of the ones of interest were: Harper's Weekly dated March 16, 1861 showing the Washington Arsenal; The Boston Daily Journal, dated June 1864; and Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper dated May 31, 1862.
Some of these illustrations are very entertaining and thought provoking. I guess if you didn't have TV, cell phones, radio, etc. then the newspapers were about as exciting as it got.
I've found many so I'll go through them and post up the more interesting ones.
