1st Lt. Joseph Mathew Ellison, Company C, 15th Alabama Infantry. A married farmer, Ellison was appointed as a 2nd Lieutenant by Governor Moore, entering the military on 26 July 1861 at Fort Mitchell, Alabama. Ellison, later promoted to 1st Lieutenant, fought in the bloody spring and summer Virginia battles of 1862. He resigned his commission at Port Royal, Virginia on 22 December 1862.
ELLISON, Joseph Mathew, 2nd Lt., 1st Lt. (enlisted, aged 27; promoted, 1st Lt., 1 Feb 62; resigned, 22 Dec 62; reenlisted, 2nd GA Cavalry)
Pvt. Preston Sellers, Company L, 15th Alabama Infantry. A single farmer, Sellers enlisted on 11 March 1862 in Perote, Alabama. He was captured on Little Round Top at Gettysburg on 2 July 1863 and died due to disease as a POW at Fort Delaware on 1 December 1863.
