Today marks the 157th Anniversary of the Battle of Cloyd's Mountain Virginia this was a Union Victory destroying the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad. Union Army Commanders were Brig. General George Crook/Colonel Carr B. White/Colonel Horatio G. Sickel. The Union Army will have a force of 6,100. Union Losses and casualties were 668. The Confederacy will lose a General after today due to his wounding. Brig. General Albert G. Jenkins will have his arm amputated and die twelve days later. Colonel John McCausland will assume command of the Confederate forces. The Confederate Army will have a force of 2,400 and losses and casualties of 538.
