Today is the 153rd Anniversary of the sinking of the Sultana , the Sultana's Descendant's Association is meeting in Selma, Alabama and one of their trips will be to the site of the town of Old Cawhaba where the Cahaba Prison was and where many of the Union soldiers that were on the Sultana had been held.

Hope the association members feel free to come here and share their stories- it's always amazing, albeit it chilling to hear them. Gosh. The Sultana survivors met, didn't they? You could see why- you just know some went to Andersonville reunions, Sultana reunions, ran their GAR's and lived to be 126 years old.
