Brigadier General William Emory graduated in 1831.
At 53 he was among the oldest Federal officers serving in the field.
He commanded the second division of the XIX Corps in Sheridan's Middle Military District.

Edit - A number of players named Andrew Humphreys, as I did. I was able to verify that he graduated in the year Sheridan was born and served as a corps commander, but I could not verify that he served under Sheridan.
