June 10, 1861 - Battle of Big Bethel; Daniel Harvey Hill, John Magruder, William Farrar Smith.

June 10, 1861 - Brig. Gen. Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard, CSA, is placed in the command of all the Confederate forces in the Virginia counties of Prince William, Fairfax, and Loudoun.

June 10, 1871 - The Rockville MD, Expedition, Col. Charles Stone, 14th US Infantry, commanding a Federal expedition from Washington, D.C., to Edwards' Ferry, Potomac River, MD. (Jun 10-Jul 7)

June 10, 1862 - General Henry Halleck assigns Ulysses S. Grant, Don Carlos Buell, and John Pope to corps commanders.

June 10, 1863 - Maj. Gen. William Thomas Harbaugh Brooks, USA, assumes the command of the Dept. of the Monongahela, PA.

June 10, 1863 - Maj. Gen. Darius Nash Couch, USA, assumes the command of the Dept. of the Susquehanna, PA.

June 10, 1863 - Federal scout on Middleton and Eagleville Pikes, TN.

June 10, 1863 - The capture of the Union steamer, Maple Leaf, off the coast of Cape Henry, VA, after leaving Fort Delaware with 97 Rebel prisoners who overpowered the Federals aboard ship.

June 10, 1863 - Lieut. Gen. Richard S. Ewell's, CSA, Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia leaves Culpeper, VA, and heads northwest towards Maryland.

June 10, 1864 - John Smith Preston, CSA, is appointed Brig. Gen.

June 10, 1864 - The capture of Lexington, KY by Maj. Gen. John Hunt Morgan, CSA.

June 10, 1864 - Maj. Gen. John G. Walker, CSA, is assigned to the command of the District of West Louisiana, and vice Maj. Gen. Richard Taylor, CSA, is relieved of command.

June 10, 1864 - Operations in the District of Central Missouri, against guerrillas, where Brig. Gen. Egbert B. Brown, USA, commanding the District of Central Missouri reports 23 Union casualties after logging 3,810 miles by the various Yankee expeditions against guerrillas. (Jun 10-23)

June 10, 1864 - Affair near Saint James, MO, with guerrillas dressed in Union uniforms. The guerrillas burn two railroad box-cars.

June 10, 1864 - Federal scout from Sedalia to Renick's Farm, MO, and encounters with bushwhackers. (Jun 10-15)

June 10, 1864 - The Engagement at Brice's Cross-Roads (or Tishomingo Creek), near Guntown, MS, as Maj. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest, CSA, routs Brig. Gen. Samuel Davis Sturgis, USA. Forrest reports capturing 1,618 prisoners and scores upon scores of Federal ammunition, weapons, etc, while he reports losing 492 men.

June 10, 1864 - Skirmish at Brownsburg, VA, and below as Maj. Gen. John C. Breckinridge, CSA, attempts to intercept Maj. Gen. David Hunter's, USA, combined Union cavalry force on their way toward Lexington and Lynchburg.

June 10, 1864 - Skirmish at Middlebrook, VA, The Lynchburg, VA, Campaign.
