June 4, 1862 - Skirmish at Woodville, AL.

June 4, 1862 - Skirmishes at Osborn's and Wolf's Creeks, Blackland, MS.

Federal scouts to Miami, Cambridge, Frankfort, Waverly, Pink Hill, etc. MO. (Jun 4-10)

June 4, 1862 - Skirmish at Sweeden's Cove, near Jasper, TN, with Maj. Gen. Orsby M. Mitchel, USA.

June 4, 1862 - Skirmish at Big Bend, WV, with Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Jackson, CSA, as he continues back up the Shenandoah Valley, VA.

June 4, 1862 - Confederates evacuate Fort Pillow, now a lone garrison on the Mississippi in northern Tennessee

June 4, 1863 - Abraham Lincoln suggests the ban on the Chicago Times be lifted and Edwin Stanton orders Ambrose Burnsides to do it.

June 4, 1863 - Skirmish at Fayetteville, AR.

June 4, 1863 - Federal expedition from Fort Pulaski, GA, to Bluffton, SC.

June 4, 1863 - Skirmish at the Atchafalaya, LA.

June 4, 1863 - Affair at Lake Saint Joseph, LA.

June 4, 1863 - Engagement at Franklin, TN, with a failed Rebel attack.

June 4, 1863 - Operations on the Shelbyville Pike, near Murfreesboro, TN.

June 4, 1863 - Federal scout to Smithville, TN. (Jun 4-5)

June 4, 1863 - Skirmish at Snow Hill, TN, with Maj. Gen. William S. Rosecrans, USA, and Gen. Braxton Bragg, CSA.

June 4, 1863 - Gen. Robert E. Lee, CSA, moves the 1st and 2nd Corp (Lieut. Gens. Longstreet and Ewell) to Culpeper, VA, keeping the 3rd Army Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia, under Lieut. Gen. A. P. Hill, CSA at Fredericksburg, VA. The Cavalry Corps under Maj. Gen. JEB Stuart, CSA, is sent on a protective covering of the army's advance.

June 4, 1863 - Skirmish at Frying Pan, VA.

June 4, 1863 - Skirmish on the Lawyers' road, near Fairfax Court-House, VA, as the Federals are ambushed by the Confederates after passing Frying Pan; the Federals regrouped and chased the Rebels to Aldie, the Yankee returning via Dranesville.

June 4, 1863 - Federal expedition from Yorktown to Walkerton and Aylett's, VA, aboard the US transport Winnisimet, accompanied by the US gunboats, Commodore Morris, Commodore Jones, and Smith Briggs up the Pamunkey River where at Aylett they destroy a Rebel iron foundry making rifle and cannon shot, burn a grist mill, capture horses, etc. Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett, CSA, is reported 10 miles away at Newtown with 10,000 Rebels. (Jun 4-5)

June 4, 1864 - Federal scouts from Huntersville and Clinton, AR, in search of guerrilla bands. (Jun 4-17)

June 4, 1864 - Action at Big Shanty and Acworth, GA, as Gen. Joseph E. Johnston, CSA, moves from New Hope Church area outside Atlanta to fortified positions fronting Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman, USA, at the Pine Mountains, GA.

June 4, 1864 - Affair at Hudson's Crossing, Neosho River, the Indian Territory, where the Federals follow up and attack bushwhackers, who originally attacked the Federal Indian brigade moving to meet the refugee train at Hudson's Crossing and burn their camp.

June 4, 1864 - Brig. Gen. John Hunt Morgan's, CSA, Cavalry forces enter Kentucky towards Lexington.

June 4, 1864 - Skirmish near Vicksburg, MS.

June 4, 1864 - Affair at Harrisonburg, VA, with Maj. Gen. David Hunter, USA, The Lynchburg, VA, Campaign.

June 4, 1864 - Affair at Port Republic, VA, with Maj. Gen. David Hunter, USA.

June 4, 1864 - Skirmish at Panther Gap, WV, with Maj. Gen. David Hunter, USA.

June 5, 1865 - Federal operations against Indians near Fort Collins, the Colorado Territory, as the Yankees travel to Virginia Dale and towards Laramie in search of horse stealing Indians. (Jun 4-10)
 
June 4, 1864 - Brig. Gen. John Hunt Morgan's, CSA, Cavalry forces enter Kentucky towards Lexington.
4 of the John Morgan back issues of Blue & Gray Magazine are still available on it's website. I ordered 1 of them some months back. Must not be much of a general interest in Morgan and his troops.
