His father was Maj Gen Isaac Ingalls Stevens (25 March 1818 – 1 September 1862)
He was Hazard Stevens (June 9, 1842 – October 11, 1918)
His climbing friend was Philemon Beecher Van Trump (1838 –1916) It was the first documented successful climb of Mount Rainier on August 17, 1870.
 
Hazard Stevens received the MoH for the Battle of Fort Huger. He made the first successful, documented, climb of Mt. Ranier in 1870 with P B Van Trump.
Hazard Stevens' father was Isaac Stevens, a dwarf and graduate of West Point. Hazard Stevens was killed after seizing the colors of the 79th NY and carrying them over the Confederate ramparts.

Edit - You got the names right, so you get credit for a correct answer. However, it was Isaac, not Hazard, who was killed during the Civil War.
