I like sharing these classes with everyone I am going to start working on Class of 1831 sometime this week.
Here's a head start for you:

He's one of those who had what you'd call a "distinguished career".There was even another Corps Commander in the bunch. The rest were too old, led reserves in the rear, were routed at Chickamauga, Commissary but they were there.

Basinger and Vinton got forts named after them during the Second Seminole War. I suspect service in Florida and Mexico contributed directly or indirectly to the high death rate.

Linnard's death was least partially responsible for George Meade being assigned to Florida for lighthouse work in the early 1850s. (Linnard was Meade's immediate predecessor on Florida Keys lighthouse projects.)

Colonel Meriwether Lewis Clark, the son of explorer William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame. An artillery officer who served in the Mexican War under Stephen Watts Kearney, and in the Civil War he served as a Missouri State Guard General and later served as an artillery officer in several Confederate commands including the CSA Ordinance Bureau in Richmond. He was captured at Sayler's Creek.
