Much to my chagrin I ended up with two new books at last week's CWRTs I went to. Why must CWRTs give out books? So should these go on my "probably never read" book shelf. However, I have been neglecting the Western Theater and these two could go on my "read soon" shelf.

I do not believe I have ever read a book about General Tilghman. Is this book worth reading? I am more into artillery and might go ahead and read that book next. I will have some reading time tomorrow while my wife does some shopping. So which one to start reading?

I think you should read the cannoneers book and send the other to me :giggle: . I'll come pick it up if that's easier for you!

Larry Daniel book looks interesting.

I'd definitely vote for Daniel's book on artillery - Tilghman just doesn't sound very interesting to me. The only things I can think of in relation to him are his surrender of Fort Henry and later being cut in two by a Parrott shell at Champion's Hill.
