Nice pics and great view. Looks like they may have trimmed back some of the greenery that was there in June last year. I very much want to go back there. I was on a group tour and didn't get to wander much like I do on solo trips. Keep the pics coming.

Slightly different angle. This one didn't make me nervous while I was shooting it, but looking at the photo now gives me butterflies. That edge is something.

The top of the New York Peace Memorial. I hurried up and shot this while thunder rumbled and we were making our way back to the car.

According to NPS:

"Veterans from New York erected the monument in 1907 with some deliberate reconciliation connotations. The bronze soldiers, one Union and one Confederate, are shaking hands underneath the United States flag. Also, the monument was constructed of Tennessee marble and Massachusetts granite, mixed together to signify the rebirth of the country."

We were there late, and the museum was closed by the time we were done. I couldn't resist taking this photo through the window though. I wasn't sure if it was going to be a shot I'd keep, but when I saw it, I thought it was kinda fun. A little askew. Like me!

This flag is technically at Rock City, but I liked the photo and felt it fits with the theme.

The kids laugh at me always taking the opportunity to photograph the US flag whenever I see one. This one was too much to pass up: On top of a mountain, unfurling in blazing sunlight. O beautiful for spacious skies indeed.

Incredible view! Thank you for sharing (I hope that you have more)
You are quite welcome. I enjoy trying to get a good shot. It's a struggle at times. Okay, most of the time. Good thing I find the process entertaining.

Great photos ! I've a photo of me in the early 1960's, (pre-teen) somewhere, standing next to that same cannon.
Thank you! See if you can find that photo.

Wonderful photos. It is a great spot to stand. We have been there several times. Always enjoy that area so much.
Thank you! I was actually sad to leave. Usually I'm ready to get back home and to my routine, but not this time.

Thank you! I want to go back next week. :D

The view from Point Park is one of my favorites. Thanks for taking us with you.
You are quite welcome.

I met another man who was there taking photos, and I could tell he knew a bit about the war based on the conversation he was having with his friend.

The two of us were laughing about taking pictures of cannon. We both stood, sat, squatted, leaned...clicking away. I told him, "I can't wait to get here and take photos. Then I'm here, and I freeze. I don't know what to shoot!"

He said, "I take hundreds of photos and only like two."
