Chamberlain Chamberlain and Shipyard Pale Ale

How about this one ...

Great photo, and I hope the beer lives up to Chamberlain's reputation.
At a party last year, a friend was drinking this:

I asked her for the bottle and took it home with me as I'd never seen any ACW-related beverages before.

I'd also love to see a bottle of "Lee-monade" :D

Adams county Winery/Gettysburg Winery have a very popular line of "150th Gettysburg wines" My wife & I have tried a couple & they are very good. The "Tears of Gettysburg" is a very tasty white wine but their "Rebel Red" is my favorite and tastes like grape juice.

I always did think the avatar looked exactly like a college kid's idea of ' HEY, I know! ' Good grief don't change it, it's perfect. One of my sons went to Marywood, a small Catholic school in Scranton- this is far better than some of the photos that turned up of the statues there, believe me.

Gosh I was crushed 25 years ago, Buster wasn't real, like losing Santa.

I have always thought of Buster as Michael Shaara. I think Buster's mindset is much more of a 1970s mindset than an 1860s, and since there were not as many Italians in the Civil War Shaara might have decided to make himself Irish.
When Buster and Chamberlain have the chat about philosophy under the tree, I think that's Shaara's 1970s mind trying to understand 1860's philosophy.

Years ago, when I was thinking of trying some home-brewing, I came up with a label for "Old Beastly" -- featuring the ugliest picture of Ben Butler I could find, complete with a "WARNING: may be hazardous to the health of rebels, brahmins, and women of the town plying their trade."

I realize you had found an exceptionally ugly photo of the Beast but this would make an awesome label for that beer

I've frequently thought Shaara injected a lot of his own reflections in ' Killer Angels ', it never occured to me that Buster was himself- interesting, and makes sense. I've never quite bought the reflections Chamberlain had in his own head, when they came across the wounded slave- where he struggles a little with doubt ' What if you're wrong ', that whole thing? Some Northerners really did have no doubts, on humans being equal- was never sure what Shaara was getting at there.

Ohhhh kay, how did Butler did dragged into this? I'll chuckle about his terrible reputation sometimes because he did, too, but the cloven hooves? Tell you what, if someone had emptied a chamberpot on my head, I'd have done more than issue an order, I'd have slugged them. WITH a chamberpot.

That whole scene was kinda weird. I think I was too busy going, "Call the doctor? What doctor? the 20th doesn't have a doctor!"

First time I've come across this thread-and the Rebel Red is still available from the Gettysburg Winery. I'd love to order a bottle, but the shipping would be prohibitive to North Dakota!

General Casey, I like your style! And your date of choice is nice too! I usually try to watch Gettysburg's relevant dates on the same dates. Doesn't always work out....

This is perfect. PERFECT, I say. My husband and I are vacationing in Maine this October and we like visiting breweries. I will most definitely add this brewery and beer to the list...

I realize this thread is crazy old, but I'm a newbie browsing and I couldn't contain my excitement.
