the weather is gorgeous! Get out there and change your perspective! Capture something amazing!

I didn't notice the "Special Inspirational Requirement for September " until AFTER I posted my photo of the gun line! If you'd rather use THIS feel free; it was taken the day previous ( July 19, 2013 ) inside Pemberton's Headquarters at Vicksburg and I was lying on my back on the floor when I took it - is THAT tilted or drastic enough?

It is gorgeous, isn't it? I've taken many pictures of it, from different angles and in different weather. It must be a decent place for fishing, too, because there's always at least one person with a line in when I'm out there.

It is such a serene setting. Difficult to imagine the horrible war raging all around.

It must be beautiful in the winter...would like to have a photo of it. Also saw someone fishing when I was there. Thanks for your response.

It is serene, but speaking of fishermen, the last time I was there, a man fishing below the dam breast told me a story of how a couple years ago he was fishing at the same spot, and heard footsteps behind him . . . he turned to look, and saw it was a bear! He said he was pretty much trapped between the bear and the water and the dam. He finished the story by saying, "Up until that moment, I believed Jesus was the only one who walked on water!"

Oh, wow! Glad I didn't hear footsteps...think I would just faint to come face to face with a bear! Thanks for sharing that great story.

Love that place! My wife and I spent a lot of time there when we went the first week in July. Beautiful place.
