I´ve tried to find Civil War reenactments in Finland but Denmark was the closest that I found, video of their reenactment of Battle of Antietam (it´s not related to actual events in any way, but fun to watch) If You have some good photos or something else that fits in this thread please feel free to post it here!

In many countries in Europe reenactment of American Indian life has been popular since at least the 1930s.

If you are in the U.K. and see advertising for a Civil War reenactment, it more likely means the English Civil War in the 17th Century, although American Civil War gets some play as well as Roman and Middle Ages military.

Interesting NPR article about American Civil War re-enactors in the UK here; http://www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow/2010/09/08/129722983/civilwar-uk

I quite like that piece - I met the photographer a couple of times, and, er, am actually in one of the pictures (number 10!).

This short video was filmed in 2008, at the first event I attended. I'm somewhere in the blue hordes:

The trench set, built in part of a Victorian fort, was amazing.

http://www.acwphotos.com/ contains some great shots but hasn't been updated in a while.

Oh, and if ever anyone wants to come to an event in the UK, you'd be more than welcome!

The latter. Gosh, I'm handsome.

The country house we were holding that event at looks just like how I picture them to be in Virginia, and the landscape around it really adds to the effect.
