Does anyone know if any battles took place in Key West Florida? There is a guy on ebay selling a lot of 55 bullets that look like fired minie balls he claims were dug in Key West. I worked in Key West for 7 years and never heard of anything that would result in digging so many bullets in a place as small as Key West.

Never heard of one. The best way to tell with bullets dug in the sandy soil is the patina.

I wouldn't be overly surprised that they were dug there? The area, albeit small has a pretty heavy Civil War presence between the Martello Towers and Fort Taylor, and I don't think Key West is probably a hot bed for CW tourism and relic digging.
