We're Going Live - CWT Antietam Muster 2021

Anna has very bad migraines that are triggered by basil of all things. We couldn’t risk it being out of town - basil migraines send her to the ER every time.
Oh dear, bless her heart! I once dated a gal that would get them from smelling certain things, as well as being triggered by particular foods. And you would be better off going to a witch doctor than going to the hospital in Charles Town!

My photo of The Corn Field.
@Ole Miss is dedicated to CWT and an all around good 'ole boy. He took me on a tour of Oxford and showed the sights related to the Civil War, General Forrest and the famous citizens, such as John Grisham. I was very nervous about entering the gates of Ole Miss, the university. I couldn't post any photos on FB in fear of my MSU friends would de-Friend me.

Of the many things that I learned this weekend, the one that sticks out the most, is that he's directionally challenged...lol 🧭
Well, the way Harpers Ferry NPS had faced or pointed their maps had a dozen or so of us trying to figure out where what was. If they would have turned in around 180* it would have made since to us all.

I really, really thought he was joking. Any Map hanging vertically always has the NORTH at the top. If they wanted you to "see" the orientation as you would view it, they would display it on a flat or slightly tilted tablet. It was also obvious to spot Bolivar Heights and School House Ridge by the contour lines.

But I have to come to his defense. It was confusing to have 3 or 4 maps with us---the NPS Park Map, map from Sears book, CW Trust maps and others.

Ya'll are more fragile than I thought.

It was only a few months ago that your school won the National Baseball Championship.
Now, everyone on the Mississippi State campus seems to be worried about facebook.

Sue and I got home this afternoon to a very angry cat who has been ignored by her mother for 6 days!
I had a wonderful trip and had the opportunity to stop and shop at 5 Dollar Trees and 4 Dollar Generals in all. Sue was pleased with her bargins.

I had a wonderful time with the sights and chances to meet new friends and greet Ole ones.
Tina Darlin' you are a jewel and a gracious hostess, thank you for all your hard work!
Regards
David
PS If you are looking for Clark's (Stone in the wall) kin look at this photo of Billy Mahone. Dead ringer

Great Gobs of Geronimo Gravy!! Clark looks WAY more like him than I thought!

In my defense, if a guide uses a map, either the guide or the map should properly orient the viewer. So should historical markers that use maps. Not all visitors study this stuff like we do. Some leave thoroughly misinformed.
