Folks, it appears that I will be leading a two day tour of sites associated with the retreat from Gettysburg on August 28 and 29. The following are the itineraries of stops:

Saturday, August 28;

1. Seminary Ridge
2. Granite Hill
3. Fountaindale
4. Monterey Pass Museum and battlefield park
5. Smithsburg, MD
6. Hagerstown
7. Funkstown
8. Boonsboro
9. Devil's Backbone County Park
10. St. James School in Williamsport
11. Daniel Donnelly House
12. Falling Waters
13. Cushwa Basin, Williamsport
14. Return to Gettysburg

IF time permits, we may go to Bunker Hill, WV to see where Brig. Gen. J. Johnston Pettigrew died. It's not likely, but it is possible, so I thought I had better mention it.

Sunday, August 29:

1. Seminary Ridge
2. Caledonia Furnace
3. Greencastle
4. Cearfoss, MD (Cunningham's Crossroads)
5. Cushwa Basin
6. Return to Gettysburg

The Saturday tour, which covers the 22 engagements during the retreat, is a full day and covers about 120 miles roundtrip. Lunch will be provided on this bus tour. The Sunday tour is also a bus tour, but only half a day. We will be back in Gettysburg by noon on Sunday.

THESE ARE NOT FREE TOURS. THERE WILL BE COST ASSOCIATED WITH THEM. THE COST WILL BE PROVIDED AS SOON AS WE HEAR BACK FROM THE BUS COMPANY. CARS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO "TAG ALONG" DUE TO THE DISTANCE TRAVELED AND THE ROUTE REQUIRED.

If you have an interest in attending, please send me a PM. Thank you.

This was our second trip with Eric on the retreat from Gettysburg. What I didn't comprehend on the first trip was made crystal clear on this second tour. Was well worth a two day tour.
Any tour given by Eric, you will get to understand in depth, How it happened, Why it happened and the climax of the aftermath.
My opinion...Told As a Military phrase. Outstanding.

Thank you for those very kind words, Gerry. They're greatly appreciated.

And you're now officially a member of the Drowned Rat Brigade, select company indeed.

Eric gets you into places you couldn't do on your own! Thank you Eric.

Another place with private access only and where we became members of the Drowned Rat Brigade. That place is called "Falling Waters" for a reason. My shoes still aren't dry!
