I've been on the hunt for a while for a good M1850 Foot Officer's Sword. I've been asked to serve as an officer in one of the reenactment groups I belong to. I really wanted an original sword over a reproduction. Wanted a solid piece with a metal scabbard that could be used in the field yet not so pristine I'd that I'd feel horrible if I dinged it by use and not break the bank either. I wasn't seeing what I wanted on line so I asked @ucvrelics for advice. He said he'd be heading to a few shows and would keep an eye out. Well he did and spotted exactly what I was looking for and picked it up for me and I received it yesterday. He absolutely nailed it, it's exactly what I wanted. I can't thank him enough for his help. It's an imported M1850 made by Wilhelm Clauberg of Solingen, Germany

Great sword. You'll carry it in a reenactment knowing that perhaps it was in the real thing 150 plus years ago. Sort of a Twilight Zone moment. Hopefully it won't suck you back 156 years. If it does, let us know.

Glad you like it. With the nice US motif etching I almost keep it:D Always glad to help out my CWT family.

That is really special! What a beauty! And to be able to carry it at a reenactment will be quite a thrill. Thanks very much for the photos and the story of how you came to own it. @ucvrelics is the man!

Thanks John! Pictures of me using it were requested. The officer kit is still a work in progress but will have it put together soon.
