Tell me more! Post War "CS" or "SC" Plate Identification Help

Greetings!

I've happened across a brass plate that I'm having a difficult time identifying. Hoping someone can assist in providing additional information.

An identical plate was sold at a Worthington Galleries auction in their "Civil War & Militaria Auction Spectacular" back in 2017. Besides it coming from the estate of a collector, additional details are non existent. I've provided the link below from the Invaluable post and attached images from the piece I've obtained:

I've never seen a "CS" or "SC" plate in this particular style. The hook and keeper are definitely post war. Possible UCV buckle?

These were very popular militia style plates of the circa 1880-1900 period.
