Far more people are still talking about Plan 9 from Outer Space.
The film about that film is still a classic.

Fantastic movie, pity that Gods & Generals & Last full measure didnât work out
Stephen Lang was a great guy and pleasant to all the extras to include the guy that played Chamberlins brother. You don't want to know what I have to say about the rest of them Actors. I did hear Sam Eliott was a great guy too but I was not around during that part of filming. From what I heard they wanted Tom Berenger to play Longstreet again in the second movie but he demanded to play Jackson. They could not work it out so Tommy said no and Lang became Jackson!Stephen Lang is an accomplished actor, and as Pickett in Gettysburg he was fantastic... but I don't think he was the right person for Gn. TJ Jackson, the right personality... if Gods n Generals could have cut out some of the fluff and showed more action, maybe with someone like Jon Voight as Stonewall, it could have come out much better.
But they certainly won't make a film adaptation of the Last Full Measure. I think that would work better as a TV series or they should do that with Jeff Shaara's first book of the Western theater trilogy A Blaze of glory about the battle of Shiloh. It would be interesting to see someone portraying Albert Sidney Johnston and Nathan Bedford Forrest as well as seeing Sherman and Grant assessing the battle after the first day's fighting and Grant talking with Charles Ferguson Smith.View attachment 403380What yea talking about? They did do the Movie GODS AND GENERALS. Plus I had a better time being an extra in that one then I did the first one.

yup your right about the acting and as far as an Oscar winner it was Lame. When my Unit went to see it for the first time at opening preview we gasped when we saw the opening scene of the Spy running into the Reb picket line. Had to be the Fattest Reb in the whole Army to include the Union Army. Farby from the beginning, sad but that's Hollywood. Conway should of played and Officer since he was drunk all the time that I saw him. Never interacted with the extras like us and just came stumbling down from where ever to do his scene then left just as fast. The best acting was Lang as Pickett hands down!Iâve seen it several times just a pity it wasnât better. Itâs good from a historical view point but as a movie itâs lousy. Itâs a long winded mess as a source of entertainment. I enjoy it for the sets & uniforms etc. As a personal side note the Irish accents are awful aswell , Kevin Conway RIP did a good job on Kilrain in Gettysburg.
Au contraire! The best acting was Richard Jordan as Armistead.yup your right about the acting and as far as an Oscar winner it was Lame. For what it's worth, I like Lang best as Pickett, too, not Jackson, even though he gave a good performance in both movies.I apologise for the mix up above I was referring to Gods & Generals. As for Richard Jordan he gave tour de force as Armistead in Gettysburg. He passed soon after the movie. That fact always gives the line âinto your hand I commend my spirtâ more resonance to me.
Lang's best role as well as his best movie. Best movie Elliot was ever in too. Hell, it was the best movie a whole bunch of people were ever in. Very instructive.
Word was they didn't make the movie of the third book because GODS AND GENERALS was a flop at the Theaters and did not make a profit. But they certainly won't make a film adaptation of the Last Full Measure. "Cheesy"?? Really, I thought it was a great scene. Drove home the disaster that just took place and never should of happened in the first place. Like what the &%$# just happened. If you see Lang in all his Movies he is a great actor even if the movie stinks. Plus adding he is a super nice guy in person.Personally I liked the Buford scenes on Day 1 the most. It was a bit Shakespearean for sure, but I always found Buford's role the most appealing in a romantic sort of way, and the most heroic. On the contrary, I did not like Day 3 as much. Particularly, I was shook by the horrible cheesy editing when Picket tells Lee he has no division - it felt so out of place the way it zoomed in on their faces and sort of froze, that it shatters the third wall for me every time.
Wow! I hope you didn't have to shoot yourself!Being in both sides of Pickett's Charge. We did double duty in the movie.
This was a nice scene, for sure. I was very moved when I first saw it. But I don't think General Lee bounced in the saddle like that. Still, Sheen pulled off a good character interpretation. When the Confederate troops are cheering Lee. Unscripted, I believe. To me, absolutely moving.
so you were at Chapultepec too? Tell us was the Wall you stormed there as tall as the one built recently at the Border?Pretty warm outside today ...."the heat reminds me of Mexico".......
