Beautiful Day to be Digging Relics

The weather has certainly cooperated more this year compared to the previous two years in terms of being able to get out and dig. Here's some of the relics I found on yesterday's hunt in the Vicksburg area.

Here's a hammer head that was used to forge metal on an anvil.

This is a barrel ring. Usually there were two to three of these type of iron rings that held the wood barrel together. Barrels contained food, ammunition, gunpowder, etc.

Now if I can only locate that box of gold coins that the soldiers surely buried...:smile:
Have you ever noticed that of the seemingly hundreds of stories about lost Civil War/WWII/ stolen/lost gold, that no one has ever admitted finding any-not that I ever would either.:nah disagree:

Jealousy abounds! Nice finds.........I felt fortunate to go out and find a neighbors wind chime in some brush, I have missed the head phone beeps that much....

Those are some nice items. Today was the nicest day of 2021 here in Michigan. We do not get many 70 degree days in March. I think today would be a great day for almost any activity. For those in Michigan that like relic hunting today would have been a great day to do it.
