Pretty soon we're gonna be down to "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" level here
Are they all squished like that? I keep thinking it would make a neat necklace if flat, or *gasp* sew with it!!I have found 8 of them in this camp as they were issued new uniforms so I guess there was some alterations going on.
Yes, being in a cotton field the tractors wreak havoc on them and buttons. Are they all squished like that? I keep thinking it would make a neat necklace if flat, or *gasp* sew with it!!
Ah, yeah plowing is hard on objects to be sure, and all stratification information is typically lost.Yes, being in a cotton field the tractors wreak havoc on them and buttons.
Not to mention fertilizerAh, yeah plowing is hard on objects to be sure, and all stratification information is typically lost.
Yea but I'll take fertilized and plowed CS relics over pristine yankee relics any dayNot to mention fertilizer
You better check with Tom on that, besides I have an open invite from him to come dig anytime. I'll be more than happy to take y'all to some spots in and around Vburg and the Big Black but my virgin CS camp here is another matter.I'll share an excellent Texas Confederate site with you Tom just got permission for us to hunt (he's already been having a field day without me). IF you share a Vicksburg site, or any good one really.
Because I'm nice....
I found this virgin CS camp 8 years ago and have been digging it "By Myself" ever since and it has been a gold mine.Nice hunt, nice finds. We got to work hard nowadays for those kinda finds. Here’s to ya

Bob and I are headed to Corinth next month, April 9 - 11th y'all come on over.Tom's been wondering if he'd ever hear back from you on the Shiloh site. He's been after this place for a while and its a mostly virgin CS Cavalry training camp site. There's even one Confederate built structure still standing out there.
I was jokingly offering, but I'm pretty certain he wouldn't mind all things considered. If I invited anyone else I'd have dug myself into a major hole.

Okay
I find Indian artifacts frequently at civil war sites. What was a good campsite for a soldier was probably a good camping area for Indians years prior.Curious to know if many Indian Relics turn up in these hunts. Good grounds, thinks me!
Lubliner.
No, a Civil War Show.Y'all have a digging site there?
I have several digging sites in and around Corinth but this will be a hunting trip of a different kind and there is also a CW show.Y'all have a digging site there?
