Well, since this thread is for Monuments and markers ... off the beaten path I suppose you intend this one to remain so, since you didn't say where it is!
Well, is this one actually IN the park, or is it another like those scattered along the Pittsburg Landing - Corinth Road, Bark Road etc.? Of course, my ancestor Jasper Blair's 33d Alabama was in Wood's later brigade when it was part of Pat Cleburne's Division from Richmond, KY through Chickamauga, after which Wood resigned under a cloud.View attachment 395741
I have looked for this one for a long time. This is where my ancestors spent the night Saturday night, and had a front row seat to watch the battle begin.
It is in the far edge of the field at the corner of the treeline by hwy 22 . Looking from the monument in the middle of the field if accessed from park it's at your 11:00Well, is this one actually IN the park, or is it another like those scattered along the Pittsburg Landing - Corinth Road, Bark Road etc.?

Judging by its condition, it looks to me like it hasn't been seen lately by any NPS personnel either!I found this seldom seen marker South of the Park along Gladen Road.

Drove by that place many times and the trailhead just jumped out at me this morning so of course we had to investigateView attachment 401640
This is one we found today. It is located south of rhea field during the initial push of woods brigade against peabody.
And once again it looks like that one has been forgotten by the NPS as well - calling @TomP !View attachment 401640
