Was just at the Overton County Courthouse in Livingston, TN. Interesting history behind the courthouse itself and the county sitting on the TN/KY line also has some very interesting Civil War history. Now this particular piece, I am thinking WW1. However the wheels suggest Civil War to me. Just curious if anybody could identify that piece for me? Is it possible a piece like that was used at Shiloh, Franklin, maybe Murfreesboro?

Not CW era; WWI German mortar.

It is indeed a German WW1 trench mortar and the wheels are not close to being CW.

However, they are similar to what I believe are called Absterdam wheels that appeared in the U.S. around the turn of the Twentieth Century and are sometimes represented (inaccurately) on reproduction carriages.
