OK Folks, Due to the Covid virus we have had to reschedule the Spring muster at Shiloh to the Fall. First I want to Thank Tina @NH Civil War Gal for forgoing the Fall muster at Antietam in order for us to be able to reschedule Shiloh. Thanks Tina  .

The new date Sept. 25th - 27th has already been setup at the Hampton Inn. If you have already booked for the Spring muster and plan on still attending in the Fall you will need to call them and move your date. 662-286-5949 Just be sure to tell them you are with the CivilWarTalk group. Also, please re-register at the top of the page where the RSVP is. If you weren't able to attend in May but can make the new Sept date please go up to the RSVP at the top of the page and register.

We currently plan on having the same schedule and presentations to include the "Weapons Firing". If you were already going to give a presentation please let me know that you will still be able to give it.

If you have any question or need any further info please let us know. Please "Stay Safe" and we look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall.

All things considered,I might be able to swing this one now. My June trip to Antietam is up in the air. If my flight gets cancelled,I'll have an airline travel voucher I can use to book a flight into Memphis.

Hope you can join us. Are they still going to have the Port Hudson event?

It was cancelled. It wasn't postponed. It's an annual event. The next one will be next year. I was very much looking forward to the private tour of the Priest Cap.

I spoke to Tom earlier, he felt uneasy about the date as he had other plans that time of September, but I reminded him of the relic hunt and as he put it "That changes things...." so we'll see. I'll be sure to ask him again next week when we go hunting on an old section of a road that saw heavy traffic before and up till the end of the War. (Just secured permission a few minutes ago actually.)

Hate you had to cancel. I’m planning on coming. Read up on Shiloh and Corinth over the Winter. Will study a little more. The new date is a few days after the Chickamauga anniversary dates. So, I hope the Fall is more congenial than the Spring has been. What a Year so Far?

Read up on Shiloh and Corinth over the Winter.
Glad you mentioned that. I need to check my library to see if I have any unread books on those battles. Pretty sure I don't have any on Corinth. I believe I have one on Shiloh and I know I have some unread back issues of Blue & Gray Magazine on both battles.

I read Timothy Smith’s book on Corinth, Larry J Daniel’s book on Shiloh. Think I have read all of Daniel’s stuff. He has written several on the AOT. I’ve studied the AOT a good bit. Anything Chickamauga related. Also read a bio on A. S Johnson. One of the best CW books that I’ve read. Johnson isn’t studied much. Since you are from Texas, you have probably studied him.

Bobby you have been trying to get to the Priest’s Cap since last April bless your heart
Regards
David

I think @ucvrelics presentation at the sunken road should be: "Get your detectors out and let's see how much stuff we can find before the rangers arrest us." :bounce:
Don't give him any ideas, he's a crafty ole bugger and no doubt we'll be under surveilance the whole time that we are in the Park...

I can guarantee you that there will be NO metal detectors on the SNMP as I'm way to pretty to go to jail. :cold:
Good move, when we went up earlier for a preliminary look around; we were in the Corinth Park HQ waiting on the Ranger to see us, and when he came in; he knew a whole lot more about my mud covered truck in the parking lot than a casual drive by would have provided. Just sayin":whistling:
