If it happens, it happens, It's not like I can stop it.

Before that happens though, I want to get my fix of freedom in... battlefields, digging, knapping, detecting, exploring...
Make sure you get one thats NOT a good house keeper. If it ever comes the the Big D you want to make sure you keep your house

Son, never say never! That Love Bug will hit you one day right between the eyes and you WILL spend the rest of your life trying to figure out what exactly had happened to you! heh heh. 😂

But have a good life while you can. That sounds like a good plan.

I meant the never divorce situation. Bad life experiences with that. I just don't want it. I plan on working my tail off on the railroad, and believe me, I won't be home. Heck, even in the NS conductor Ad I saw once, it said, single's are preferred so life doesn't get in the way.

I have my life planned out. Sorta.

Find a job as a Norfolk Southern Conductor, preferably Harrisburg, or somewhere down in Georgia. Get every shift possible. Work the road jobs as much as possible, and when I get my two day breaks, take day one to do household chores, and take day two for personal enjoyment, i.e Gettysburg. No wife, no kids, no pets, just me, my job and my house.
I've managed all that, after a divorce back in 1973, and now I'm retired, so not even a job to worry with! (One thing my wife and I absolutely agreed on though - NO KIDS!)

Think of it this way, I have almost $1,000 worth of fragile things sitting on my shelf now... just wait till I get older! I'd jump off of a cliff if one of them rug-rats breaks something.

I know more west than East although family in both ..I'm local to west all direct relatives where here. I have distant relatives in both. North south all-round in both theaters … Sad to say Travel time & $$ is a issue lately … for me … why I chose franklin I can go to it and return home go back … Shiloh is about 3 hrs for me Im just east of music city... So it kinda a gold mine to civil war sites Middle TN wise... if you look at all the small stuff and bigger battles and period homes used as hospitals …

Oh watch out for women too. Had one shatter my Turner Ashby plate on floor while dusting. Was I hot, anybody but Ashby (or Jackson). Took me years to find a replacement (PC's were rare, no ebay ect)

You guys are too funny - reading through this list of requirements for women. I agree with @Rebforever. When the right one hits you between the eyes, you won't worry about the conductor job or the Ashby plate. Heck, I'll replace your Ashby plate if it makes you feel better!

And believe, me, I've had *my child* break something valuable and when it is *your child* while it hurts, it's a whole different thing than someone's else's child. But that's why I hid my CW sword for years.

I have a wonderful and giving husband. He broke part of my spinning wheel (cleaning) and hid the broken part for 3 days trying to fix the unfixable. Too funny. He was miserable - came to me with the pieces in his hand last year and I just took them to the maker and got a whole new piece.pect

And the "pony express" thing of only orphans (singles) need apply, only lasted 6 months if that. I suspect the conductor business is a young man's game and there is high turnover due to the love bug!

I know guys who were 50+ when they retired. As long as I'm physically fit, (I love working out) it shouldn't be a problem at all.

I do admit, I am rather fond of ladies, I'm just scared witless talking to them, lol! Just give me one of those ES44AC's, and I'll be golden.

Psst: Between you and me here - don't tell anyone - they're just as scared witless as you, young man. Go for it!

You won't be sorry you did...

How long have we been telling the "Kid" that and he is a lot older than Ethan. Plus I really don't know if I would want to marry one that owned guns :cold: I don't believe it would end as well as my last 3.

Had one pretty as a picture, but mean as a snake when she drank. Told her she needed to go home to momma or any place but here, and I walked out to talk to the neighbors. What a show, shortly she got in her car and started to drive off. Her hand and MY pistol came out the window and she started shooting in the air. Good Riddance. Oh I did get the pistol back.

For me I started finding random things that weren't mine. and sizes I couldn't ever wear will leave it at that … Happy ending all items not mine went to Goodwill or local place that helps the needy. Not all male (ladies) or female (male) are like that … but if you get hurt move on Sadly lost two young female co workers to boy troubles... in two months this year …
