Heh. You don't know where I live at. Good ol' Kentucky, where if you ain't buzzed, and in the wrong lane, you're doin' it wrong.

I can't tell you how many times we've been run off the road, and almost crashed. We almost got into a head on wreck the other day. My mom hit the brakes and ditched the truck. I'm not too keen on driving around here, but I suppose if I want to get out of here, I'd best to get learning.

when I was a teenager the only people who had a computer was NASA. :D

Times have changed. It matters on how you use them, is what I say.

I don't do the things other kids my age do online, i.e troll, game, the unmentionables, facebook, twitter, Myspace, Yourspace, etc. However, the internet has opened so many doors to me. Meeting people, trading, heck, it's how I built my collection! It's been an amazing source for learning as well. I've found out so much about my CW ancestors, that without the aide of a computer, I wouldn't know much of anything about them.

Yep, times have changed, it's just how you use it.

I never had those kind of problems running round in Kentucky...

Sounds more like a Texas, or Missouri problem.

Well if we’re going to Shiloh. I know where we should be eating.

@Ole Miss and I ate there a couple years ago.

And we need to visit this ole boy and give him our business.

Heck when I got my license at 16 I was all over the place. Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, only rule was I had to pay for the gas myself and no driving into big cities. That rule on gas was the only reason I wasn't popping up in places like say, Georgia, and the one truck my dad bought me was a gas guzzler from h*** (I know he did that on purpose) and for some odd reason my younger brother, and step siblings got multiple cars and all the gas money they wanted. Heck they even got party money, all I got was a yell to the effect of "Get a job!" or "Ask for a raise at work!" when my older step-brother and step-sister wanted to go to Mexico my dad would throw money at them! Heck my brother got similar treatment. I was an angry teenager....

As far as computers and internet the internet was too slow for this kind of stuff and the computer too old and always broke. Even as recent as fifteen years ago as a kid I wasn't getting on computer, and I still don't own a modern cell phone. Guess I ought to be grateful for the "old school" treatment.

Yeah, even after I was diagnosed with cancer and we had to drive down to Utah almost on a daily basis, the closest my parents ever got to owning a cellphone was borrowing flip phones from my uncle. I didn't own a cellphone until I was 21.

When I worked for K-Mart and would see Grandparents buying their 8 year old kids $400 tvs. it made me go, "And they wonder why their kids don't go out and do stuff."

When I was a teenager, I dreamed of buying a car and driving out to Gettysburg to live. But now, almost 31, I'm still in Idaho. Go figure. :giggle:

I have my life planned out. Sorta.

Find a job as a Norfolk Southern Conductor, preferably Harrisburg, or somewhere down in Georgia. Get every shift possible. Work the road jobs as much as possible, and when I get my two day breaks, take day one to do household chores, and take day two for personal enjoyment, i.e Gettysburg. No wife, no kids, no pets, just me, my job and my house.

Boy, if I had a dime for every time by my buddies and I said that I’d be a millionaire! We all said it with such passion, certainty and conviction! Not once or twice but thousands of times! One by one, though, we all fell victims to the bug and our circle dwindled away to nothing. Hopeless, Unassailable, it can’t be stopped! It’s the age-old affliction, and it comes uponst thee like a plague and sweeps all other things away!:bounce:

Yep your are spot on, now 62 years and 3 ex-wives later I look back and go "What Happened" He just doesn't realize that one day some nice girl will look at him and smile, Bam to late by then. I was not as fortunate enough to find a great one like you have plus being in the US Army isn't really conducive to keeping one either.

Y'all are probably right, but then again, you don't know me.

1. I have convictions,

2., once you get a job as a conductor, you won't even have time to do an internet search on what a girl looks like and thre...

There goes one now!🤪
No I don't know you but you are a male correct, Nuff Said. I don't have convictions I was acquitted on all 3 counts:D

I just thought I was 10 feet tall bullet proof and invisible

I'm looking at Shiloh in the spring, late April or 1st weekend in May. There is no better time to be there then around the time the battle was fought and the dogwoods are in bloom which you can't read an account of the battle that they don't talk about the blooms falling as the bullets are flying. We can get it planned but just don't know if folks can make trip plans that close, especially our overseas contingent @rebel brit and @luinrina. Will just have to see how many folks can do the time frame.
Would love to come but no can do Shiloh in spring. It would be two vacations too close to each other (my other one being in mid-February to Florida) and I've been planning on saving my vacation days for a three weeks trip around ONE gathering. I wish everyone heading to Shiloh lots of fun!

I hope to make the gathering at Antietam. From what I heard they're looking at making it for the anniversary of the battle. But my participation depends on the final dates.
