I agree that this looks like Long Lane. I was last there maybe 10 years ago and that 5 high fencing fits. I think I only walked it twice on my visits. There is a house peeking out on the left corner so I would think this photo is in the area of today's Long Lane road as this fence runs parallel to it. I recall it makes a right hand turn after it crosses Stevens Run but I don't remember any buildings in that area.

I almost fell into a swamp at the end of those fences on Long Lane!

It gets soupy for sure. I go where many people don't go so I always wear my gortex Merrill's. I hope to be going out 3 times in the next six weeks. I have several of these "where Is it Wednesday" locations as planned stops.

I have an old photo of my wife standing at the rock formation on Wright Avenue. But for the life of us, we couldn't remember where it was located at when it was on "where is it" a month or two back. So that will be one of the stops. I also have a Slyder farm stop planned and I want to see that darn vine from a couple of weeks ago. I have been at the Slyder farm a lot and I don't remember any vines. Only a crazy Gettysburg fanatic would go to the battlefield to look at a vine. What the heck is wrong with me? I may commit to memory which historic homes have wood shake roofs too. Geez, I do need help.

I do want to throw an accolade to Pam. Her photos are always outstanding with great composition and color. I thoroughly enjoy her photos here and on Gettysburg Facebook pages. Although I do question her sanity too for being at one of the most scenic, historic and important battlefields in America and taking a picture of a VINE! @pamc153PA, you have spent too many hours in the classroom!

Thanks, @Wallyfish. I have taken photos on the battlefield of more obscure and weirder things than a vine, believe me. And yes—I HAVE spent too much time in the classroom! But after this year, I’m done!

As long as there is no snakes involved, I am good with obscure and weird things. I do hate heights too but ok on being in the dark. Gary Larson has my cure.

I've been up there twice in the last 4 weeks. My collection of 360 degree videos is nearing 300! Now who is crazy?:frantic:

If you take your pictures with your phone or digital camera, they should be geo-tagged with GPS coordinates. Then you can locate where your wife was standing.

You will love it, Pam. As you may remember, I retired from the classroom more than a year ago and it has allowed me to travel to Gettysburg so much more.

I made my most ambitious trek to date on Monday when I crawled into the woods near Rock Creek north of Barlow's Knoll to find the 54th NY (Barney Rifles) marker. It was quite the marker to get to!

I only have the Wolf's Hill monuments to get to and I will have seen every monument of the battlefield! Hoping to get there on Monday

Hey, I just realized that I never gave the answer to this one!

This fence is NOT found on Long Lane, though that was a good guess that I hadn’t thought of. This fence is found on the north side of the Slyder farm orchard, looking roughly west. If you haven’t walked out to the orchard on the Slyder farm, it’s just behind the barn. There are about a half dozen gnarled old apple trees, and it faces the South Cav Field (you’ve probably looked right at it if you’ve stopped at the South Cav wayside on S. Confederate). It’s one of those places on the battlefield where you can almost feel like it’s 1863.

Thanks for playing, folks!

Well I'll be. Is this that fence line (left part of the fence)? Took this shot yesterday. We were too tired to walk all the wall to the Slyder Farm tho.
