The Struck Eagle A Biography of Micah Jenkins, and a History of the 5th South Carolina Volunteers and the Palmetto Sharpshooters by James Baldwin

I'll just provide 1 book at a time for now.

Spartan Band: A History of Burnett's 13th Texas Cavalry in the Civil War by Thomas Reid. (My grandmother's uncle was in that unit--It's well written and fun reading)
Hood's Texas Brigade: The Soldiers and Families of the Confederacy's Most Celebrated Unit by Dr. Susannah Ural
Texans At Antietam and Texans At Gettysburg by Joe Owen, Philip McBride and Joe Allport
The Third Texas Cavalry in the Civil War by Douglas Hale
Sul Ross' Sixth Texas Cavalry by Stephen Kirk

I know I've read and enjoyed more--but I'm old and can't remember unless someone brings up the name :D

You have your own private library!

Looking through my own private library, it may be a surprise, but I don't have a singe book covering brigades.

But I got a major slew of CW memoirs. Easily 60%-70% of my CW books are memoirs, with the rest covering different campaigns or battles then the miscellaneous. Shows where my interests lie...

Perhaps I ought to stock up on some brigade/regimental books.

Nathanb1,
Whoa! I just checked into this Texas brigade by Simpson and the 4 volume bookset! I like the unabridged booksets. Thanks and I just added this to my list at amazon. I think the only unabridged bookset I have is on Lee- 4 volumes by Freeman.

MarylandLine; wow! awesome library you have on brigades! I totally forgot to put: In Deadly Earnest The History of the First Missouri Brigade CSA by Gottschalk! I do not have: The South's Finest: The First Missouri Brigade by Tucker.
