The North, the South and the Mormons

I did both are a matter of record

Act_in_Relation_to_Service made African American slavery legal in Utah

act for the relief of Indian slaves and prisoners made indian slavery legal for a period of 20 years after capture, which increased it from 10 which it was under the old Mexican law.

Both can be found online and at wiki, I provided the actual act for relation to service in other post

As to not taking captive children as somehow not being slavery...….would think thats rather subjective as the children didn't have a choice of where to go or remain with their parents...….who had done nothing to deserve death. Little different then attacking Indian villages to make slaves of the women and children

this has Indian one text https://collections.lib.utah.edu/details?id=716787

They had their own territory to do what they wanted to do...…..and what they did was include slavery both for Africans and Indians.

Taking in children that were orphaned simply is not slavery and certainly not the same system we are referring to racial chattel slavery in the US.

I've also already references quotes from Brigham Young himself speaking against Southern secession and proclaiming it's slavery it's doom.

Lol they weren't clearly anti slavery as they had clearly legalized it and condoned it..........again the laws they passed on slavery are the actual record of what they did and beleived.

Many religion through time have exempted themselves as they are superior to those silly non beleivers........

Not following this logic of the best way to show your opposition to something........is to pass laws condoning and legalizing it..........and again they went a step further in not only condoning US version of African slavery, but the Mexican practice of making slaves of American Indians as well. They were good with multiple forms of slavery, not just the US version.............

And if you find killing people to take children captive as somehow not equatable to slavery, I will agree to disagree.....it was a basic premise of most slavery against American Indians, when done to a white wagon train see little difference.

Also US version of slavery isn't somehow the official "version"...…….The Spanish. French, Mexicans, and yes Mormons. practiced slavery on Native Americans as well as Africans.......

As has been pointed out, the Mormons were driven out of Missouri before the Civil War. They left behind a cemetery in Richmond, Ray County. Perhaps in other towns, as well. I believe there was a lot of animosity towards even their memory in Ray County. I say this because the body of Bloody Bill Anderson was buried in a corner of the Mormon Cemetery--not in the town cemetery. I think the people who buried him felt about him as they did the Mormons.

Hmm least he was buried...…...both sides here routinely would simply leave them lying on the side of the road or off in the woods somewhere................
