Armor for North Carolina Ironclads

An impressive list. Do we know which foundry/mill was making the shipments? I wish we knew whether the mill that rolled the plate for the Mississippi had upgraded to roll 2-inch plate instead of the 1.25 inch.
Everything I know is on the referenced web page.

I was never able to find out if it was Schofield and Markham's inability to roll 2" plate at the time, or whether the specification called for 3 x 1" plate. I rather suspect the latter as the original Tift project predated John M Brooke's target experiments which proved the need for thicker plate. That the subject was not raised in the hoo haa at the enquiry or in correspondence between Mallory and the Tifts tends to suggest this was so

Apologies ,I forgot the Etowah Ironworks, I think they made plate which was re -rolled at Atlanta, There might have been other smaller establishments producing small quantities of boiler plate for domestic use too.
