If you’ve already bought the first edition of the digital book, I think you can get the updated version for free. Please let me know if that works.
I first published my book, The American Civil War WAS About Slavery, as a digital book on Amazon Kindle. It was really a trial run for my upcoming novel, Rampage on the River. I wanted to know all that was involved before I tried to publish a larger work. Of course, I also wanted to put together a well-researched book that would be of use to people in their understanding of our history.

I was delightfully surprised to see how well it was received, especially among Civil War buffs. The only complaint I’ve gotten is that it wasn’t available in print. I originally put it together to be brief, but it ended up being too short to qualify for printing. So, while I wait for my copyeditor, who is also my girlfriend, to finish reviewing my novel, I thought I’d spend some time expanding my nonfiction work.

I’ve added a Civil War timeline as it relates to the question of slavery. There is now a section on how the Confederate Constitution guaranteed the right to own and transport slaves. I’ve added a section that deals with Robert E. Lee’s thoughts on slavery and testimony from one of his ex-slaves about Lee’s treatment of the human beings he held in bondage. I’ve also expanded my Common “Lost Cause” Arguments section.

…and best yet: there’s a sneak preview excerpt from my forthcoming novel at the end. I hope you like it!

Congratulations, Cody. That, sir, is the way to promote your new book on CWT!

Edited.
Seriously though, very good for you.

Ha! Thank you. Actually, I do give away the digital version on occasion when Amazon lets me. Otherwise, it's a dollar, or $4.16 for the print version.

This was a warm up to the novel I have coming out, Rampage on the River, which takes place in the Civil War. With that one, I'm going to take you to the cleaners! Well, $2.99 for the digital, I'm not sure how much the print version will be.

Cody congrads on your book interesting title for the book a very much debated topic of what the official cause was of the war where I come from it was just all about slavery if was about southerners fight for there homes so they didn’t have all the control from government

Thank you. I hope you give it a read. The states and the Confederacy itself wanted to be very clear about why they were fighting. So much so, they wrote it down as their reason in their Declarations of Secession and the Confederate Constitution.

Now every man may have his own reason for joining a military force and fighting, I sure did, but we cannot ignore or whitewash the absolute, declared reason the Confederacy fought the war. I think to do so would be doing them a disservice.

That’s true there Cody ever veteran deserves respect but I come from along line of veterans in my family yes slavery was a factor in the civil war but that was the only factor is all I am saying and when people are taught that slavery was the main cause they need to know the whole story about the civil war and respect every soldiers confederat or union

I agree. Just as long as we don't try to hide the true cause of the war which was the preservation of slavery. The Confederacy never asked us to lie for them or whitewash their reason. They were proud of their reason. They documented it very well so that we wouldn't be confused about their motives. I think we owe it to them to take them at their word. Read my book. It's a compilation of the Confederacy's cause in their own words.
