Remembrance Day - 2018

Seriously....... That's been a topic of concern in the hobby. When the Baby Boomers are gone, there might not be too many left to carry on.
Many younger people are busy working and raising/spending money on children. Perhaps as they become "grey' themselves they'll have more time and money to reenact too.

Fred Douglass was there.

The pictures don't do it justice, the snow still present was a bit of a nuisance. My wife didn't think to wear waterproof footwear and suffered from cold and very wet feet by the end of the day.

8 inches of snow on Thursday, and the parade was on Saturday! :frantic:

Yikes! I had no idea that it had snowed that much. A nuisance two days later; a game changer if it had been any closer!

A bit related to the event but in Harry Turtledove's Southern Victory series the United States hosts a holiday called "Remembrance" based off a militant, revanchist ideology after their defeat in the Second Mexican War.

That holiday in TL-191/SV shares the same name as the Gettysburg Remembrance Day.
