Some pics I took during my visit to Andersonville last year.
They are very easy to find,on the right hand side when you look at the rotundra.I did not manage to find the "Raiders'" gravestones I had heard the same story about their being buried separately. I'm not sure if or how those stones may be marked.
Was on a two week road trip and made a stop here for the first time. I'm surprised I didn't run into bdtex along the way since it looks like we hit some of the same spots.
I hope you make it there. Don't think you will be disappointed.Awesome pictures, thank you. My 2nd Great Grandfather was held there. I would love to go some day. Just because i feel I should.
Here ya go. Taken 6/22/18:I did not manage to find the "Raiders'" gravestones I had heard the same story about their being buried separately. I'm not sure if or how those stones may be marked.
Buried seperately in disgrace.
Good pics and same here. I think I posted 2 pics in the National Cemeteries golden thread, one in a Photo Of The Month contest and one in this thread.More pics from the trip.....really slow going though the files.
This is a Lithograph passed down to me from my Grandmother, and the other image (the one I use for my avatar) is my 2nd Great Grandfather "Big" Pete Aubrey who was the Chief of Police/Regulator in Andersonville Prison.
