I'll have to agree with you, to me Buster is the model NCO who is the glue that holds armies together.Does anybody have a favorite fictional Civil War character from either a book, film, or television series? My favorite would be Buster Kilrain in The Killer Angels/Gettysburg.

Holt was a good character in RWTD. They took a little liberties portraying him deserting the cause, as both John Noland and Henry Wilson who historically rode with Quantrill didn't, and were quite proud of their service attending Quantrill reunions postwar. But the whole movies casting seemed a bit anti-war, and not very historically accurate as to the main characters. It just wasn't Holt, Dutchy was an odd choice as wellThe black confederates.
