HF Favorite Fictional Civil War Character

Historical-Fiction
Does anybody have a favorite fictional Civil War character from either a book, film, or television series? My favorite would be Buster Kilrain in The Killer Angels/Gettysburg.
I'll have to agree with you, to me Buster is the model NCO who is the glue that holds armies together.

For me its only one choice.

Pitt Mackeson and Josey Wales

Hard to beat the line from the movie "He'd as soon kill a man, as mash a tick"

It was a great portrayal of the God complex Fellman describes about when 14-16 yr old boys have suffered family tragedy then are given guns, an ideology of a endless cycle of revenge and counter-revenge, and can do and take basically whatever they want, whenever they want, his brooding nature out of combat seemed to fit the portrayal as well. Pitt made up for the poor portrayal by Dutchy.

The black confederates.

Holt was a good character in RWTD. They took a little liberties portraying him deserting the cause, as both John Noland and Henry Wilson who historically rode with Quantrill didn't, and were quite proud of their service attending Quantrill reunions postwar. But the whole movies casting seemed a bit anti-war, and not very historically accurate as to the main characters. It just wasn't Holt, Dutchy was an odd choice as well

Casting was a bizarre mix of historical characters as in Q, loose fictional composite of historical characters, and then what end up being the main, Holt and Dutchy seemed entirely fictional not based on anyone...…..
