"Color Bearer 1st Texas Regiment C.S.S., 1862" By Don Troiani
I couldn't stand it any longer. Came into a little extra money this week so I pulled the trigger. It'll look real nice hanging in my office.

Careful - they're addictive; I now have three Troiani's: Bronze Guns and Iron Men, Jackson is With You!, and George Washington.

Edit: Make that four, and add The Boy Colonel which I for some reason forgot!

I'm a big fan of Troiani's artwork along with that of Mort Kunstler, Dale Galleon and
Keith Rocco. One of my brothers is a bigger fan of Troiani than me though, he has
Lone Star, the painting of Hood's Texans in the Cornfield at Antietam hanging above
his fireplace. Congratulations on getting the new Troiani print!

Thank you sir. Just had my first Mort Kunstler print framed and I'm awaiting delivery of my first Keith Rocco print.

Just wondering where Don Stivers stands in the equation of military artists? I've just purchased a print of 'The Parting' which I will admit is more 'sentimental', but he seems to have some great Civil War artwork also.

I am kinda new to all this. I know I've looked at his website. I learned of him in this forum and I've been a member for less than 2 years.

I'm on pinterest, and have come across some great images there...both artwork and photographs. That's where I saw the Don Stivers. It's a limited edition print, and I could have gone for the more expensive item (first 80 off the press), but the CW has cost me about as much it cost the North at the time (I've bought a lot of books, plus purchased the reproduction of my Captain's letters, too), so I'm trying not to overextend the budget! Thanks for the reply.

What American Civil War battle is depicted in this painting, @bdtex?

I Googled the painting but I could not find my answer.
