Foods for St. Patrick's Day

What is New York besides a hot corned beef or pastrami sandwich.here in North florida they have no idea what one is supposed to taste like.they don't even serve them hot.

Goats - they can be delicious, though, but I'd have trouble eating one!

Oh gosh, I love eating goat! Both the taqueria and the Middle Eastern place I like have great goat.

Tell you a secret... About the fifty-first time a billy goat knocks your knees out from under you, they stop looking so cute. Only girl goats are sweet.

 I know! Sheep are that way, and so are cows. Those great big soft brown eyes and that pleasantly dumb expression frequently mask a temper that makes it real easy to plot a barbeque! Must say, though, my favorite Andy Griffith is the Loaded Goat!

I love Irish Soda bread! We have it every year because my Irish grandmother loves it too! It's even better when it's sweet and there are raisins added to it. There is a bakery that my grandma gets it from every year and we all put butter and honey on it. Not to mention we all have to fight for a slice!

Here's a picture.

Savannah's biggest party day of the year.the only larger St.Patty's Day party is in the big apple.

And what a rowdy, hectic party it's turned into. When I first started working near the parade route on Fifth Avenue 15 years ago, I used to walk up during my lunch hour and find a spot to view the parade from among the revelers. Those days are long gone sadly. I don't mind the influx of peaceful and excited parade goers decked out in outrageous Patty's Day garb, but I do mind the hordes of people trolling the neighboring area clearly intoxicated and conducting themselves in less than a civil manner while the rest of us are just trying to get on with our day. It's a shame as they are beginning to the ruin the experience for everyone, especially those who bring children to the parade. Last year lady flashed people in a very New Orleans Mardi Gras manner and I heard there were similar shenanigans this year, too :O o:
