Fritters

I am hanging in there. I am far from well. I just wanted to come on forum and read the threads and post some. I think this going to take a while to get over and get my strength back.
Hope you feel well again soon Donna. We really love your posts and the information about many delicious foods and dishes.

In keeping with the Fall Season, pumpkin fritters are very tasty. Some might enjoy bacon pumpkin fritters.

Donna,
Thanks for reviving the fritter!
I agree !

A "fritter" was one of the first things I learned to fry when I was about eight years old.

However it was a very basic version at that age . . . under the supervision of my Grandmother.

Some cornmeal, a couple of eggs and a little milk spooned into some hot bacon fat and Voila! a little corn fritter.:wavespin:

Fried Scrapple!!!??? There is an idea! (Patent and trademark underway ... unless someone has cornered the market already)

Sorry @PeterT, you aren't the first person to think of fried scapple. There are numerous recipes for it on the Internet.

My favorite fritter is a Conch Fritter.you need to be from the Florida keys or the Bahamas to know what they are like and have good ones.if Donna should go to Crystal River and go to Crackers they make axlarge asket of them for an appetizer that is worth eating and there is enough for two.

Last night on a local cooking show we watch they made blue gill fritters. They sound and looked delicious. I will get recipe and post. The show is Farmer's Kitchen. They do a lot of local cooking with Kentucky style recipes.

Just saw this post. I love conch fritters. We were introduced to them in the Florida Keys, but I have since found some good ones at the NC outer banks. Lots of folks think they sound nasty, but that's before they try them. Same thing with alligator.
